What Is Jay Cutler’s Net Worth?

What Is Jay Cutler's Net Worth?

Aaron Doster/USA TODAY Sports

Net worth: As of 2022, Jay Cutler has career earnings of $120 million.

Jay Cutler is a retired quarterback who played for 12 seasons in the National Football League with stints on the Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Miami Dolphins. The bulk of Cutler’s career was spent playing in Chicago, where he inked a seven-year extension in January 2014 that kept him with the Bears through 2020. The deal was worth $126 million, with $54 million guaranteed.

Cutler was initially drafted by the Denver Broncos, earning $15 million, half of which was paid out in bonuses. The majority of Cutler’s career earnings came with the Bears, where he earned $96 million across 8 seasons. Finally, Cutler played a final season with the Miami Dolphins in 2017  before retiring, earning $10 million — for total NFL career earnings of $122 million. Despite career earnings of over $100 million dollars, exact numbers for his net worth as of October 2022 are difficult to pinpoint and are complicated by a number of factors, including his business ventures following football and a divorce settlement in 2020.

Jay Cutler’s net worth is complicated by his divorce settlement with Kristin Cavallari, which remained private. Together, the couple owned several properties, and they also appeared together on the hit E! show, Very Cavallari. Kristin also created her own personal brand, Uncommon James, which reportedly was pulling in $20 million a year. Despite Kristin saying Cutler didn’t put any of his own cash into the brand, he famously claimed he owned half of the company.

These days, Cutler hosts his own podcast, Uncut with Jay Cutler. During a June 2022 episode with guest Clay Travis, Cutler noted that he threw a party when he received his divorce settlement and says that while he doesn’t recommend divorce for anyone, “it worked for me” — suggesting that his net worth was not severely impacted in the negotiations.

As of 2022, Cutler keeps busy with his podcast and as Chief Designer and Co-Founder of Outsider.com, a lifestyle brand, and digital media company. There, he leverages his creative talents to design the company’s brand and marks and the creative output for a portfolio of products focused on American culture and storytelling.
