Neck surgery won’t stop Ricardo Lockette from helping others.
As you may know, Lockette suffered a serious neck injury on November 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, where he sustained ligament and disc injuries to his neck. The injury was so significant that he had to stay in Dallas to have surgery to repair the damage.

But when Lockette left the hospital in Dallas after his neck surgery, he saw something that compelled him to do something.
According to TMZ, when he and his family passed through a neighborhood that had a large homeless population, Lockette told the driver to go to a nearby McDonalds. There they bought 100 cheeseburgers, returned to the area and proceeded to hand them out to the hungry. Mind you, this was not long after he had surgery and he was still wearing his neck brace.
I don’t know much about Lockette, but you have to respect a person who overlooks their own problems and puts the needs of others before his own. He could have easily drove by like many others do, and went straight home. Opting to rest instead of helping strangers.
It’s great to see athletes do something this selfless when so many of them are extremely selfish.
