Gordon Hayward is apparently ready to get back to work.
Of course, it won’t be on the court, but it could possibly be from a chair.
Hayward, the prized Boston Celtic signing of the offseason, recently underwent surgery to repair his dislocated ankle and fractured Tibia that he suffered on opening night last week. The injury was one of the most gruesome injuries to witness in years.
Due to the extent of the injury, it was safe to assume that Hayward would take a little time to rest his body and his mind, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
When head coach Brad Stevens spoke to Hayward, the forward had one simple request.
A basketball.
While Celtics were on road, Brad Stevens asked Gordon Hayward if he needed anything. GH asked for basketball and Brad’s wife dropped one off

Although it’s not known what he plans to do with it, one may think he may start shooting shots from a chair to perfect an already good shooting stroke. Similar to the rehab process of Paul George, who suffered his own gruesome injury a few seasons ago.
Regardless, it’s nice to see that basketball is already back on Hayward’s mind.
