5 Things You Could Have Bought Instead of The Mayweather/Pacquiao Fight

May 5, 2015 By Nick A.

1. The Rocky Movie Collection

Want to see a real fight? How about a bundle of five? If you could've predicted the future and known that the "Fight of The Century" would've been a dud, then you could have used that money and time to watch the entire Rocky series on Blu Ray, and still have some extra cash leftover. Sure, Rocky V and Rocky Balboa were less than spectacular, but I would take both of those movies over the fight any night of the week.

2. Boxing Gloves

Want to punch yourself in the face after spending money on a let down? Go ahead, but do it safely with a pair of these Everlast bad boys. Sure they're not the same brand that Money Mayweather and Pacquiao wore, but they do come in red like the two legends wore on fight night. Besides, everything will turn black once you throw enough haymakers to your own face.

3. Ray

No, you wouldn't have actually bought a person named Ray, rather the movie starring Jamie Foxx. If you tuned into the national anthemn before the fight, Fox looked like the one who got knocked out before the bought even began, not to mention his rendition of the national anthem was 'meh'. Watch the movie for a better performance from Mr. Fox, with less facial expressions.

4. Running Shoes

With the amount of running away Mayweather did, you can recreate the night with nice new pair of Asics running shoes. Granted, they're probably not the brand Mayweather would sport, but according to over 2,000 other buyers, these babies will work just fine.

5. A T-Shirt

This damn shirt, a couple times over. Since Pacquiao had been grinning all damn week like he had already won and apparently he was still delusional after the fight, you can help remind everyone who sees you wearing it that they too were fooled into thinking Pacquiao had the fight in the bag.
