Saturday was a gloomy day for Oakland Raiders fans.
No, they weren’t bothered by the weather in the Bay Area, rather their Super Bowl hopes died after their quarterback took a hit late in the game on Christmas morning.
Derek Carr was being his usual self, passing for three touchdowns before taking a hit in the pocket, that resulted in him breaking his leg.
Some may wonder what he was still doing in the game, with the Raiders winning, but they needed to put up a few more points to hold off the Colts and it was only the beginning of the fourth quarter.
The one unique thing about the injury was that Carr was mic’d up and the hit was caught on tape. Carr knew immediately after going to the ground that it was broke.
Listen and watch for yourself. The hit occurs around the 3:25 mark.
Sad sight. I was really hoping the Raiders could overtake the Patriots this year.
