Myles Garrett is done for the season.

The NFL announced Friday morning that it has suspended the Cleveland Browns defensive end for the remainder of this season and the playoffs at minimum. On Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Garrett was involved in an altercation with Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph, where he ripped off the quarterback’s helmet and struck him in the head with it during the final seconds of the game.

The suspension, which is at least six games, is the longest suspension in NFL history involving a single on-field incident. Garrett will also not be paid during his suspension, according to the NFL.

In addition, the NFL has fined both the Steelers and Browns $250,000 and has suspended Steelers’ Maurkice Pouncey three games, and Browns’ Larry Ogunjobi one game for their involvement.

Before Garrett can be reinstated, he must meet with the NFL first before determining his return date. Garrett and any of the others suspended can appeal their suspension within three business days.

Garrett had 10 sacks and two forced fumbles through 10 games this season. He is the third year of a 4-year, $30.4 million contract he signed as a rookie.
