What Is The Definition Of Cradle In Wrestling?
1. The cradle is a move that is performed in amateur wrestling, common when trying to secure a pin. To perform a cradle, a wrestler will grab their opponent by the neck with one arm, then take their other arm and tuck it behind their opponent’s knee. After the wrestler has established position with both their arms, the wrestler then brings their hands together and locks them so that it makes it difficult for their opponent to escape.
The cradle is a reference to an adult holding a baby. When the move is done properly, the wrester can be said that they look like a person holding a baby in their arms. Wrestlers with strong, long arms tend to have a higher success performing a cradle.
