cam*el spin
What Is The Definition Of A Camel Spin In Figure Skating?
1. A camel spin is a common, basic spin performed in figure skating. Before entering into the camel spin, the figure skater will first perform a few back crossovers in a circle in order to gain speed and momentum. The skater will then extend their free leg backwards, with their knee held above their hip and spin in place. The skater does this with the same body position as the spiral or arabesque spins.
The camel spin invented by British skater Cecilia Colledge in 1932.
