What Is Brett Favre’s Net Worth?

What Is Brett Favre's Net Worth?

Sarah Kloepping/USA TODAY Sports

Net worth: As of 2022, Brett Favre has a net worth of $100 million.

Brett Favre is a retired quarterback who played in the National Football League for the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, and Minnesota Vikings.

Favre has a net worth of about $100 million which was primarily earned during his playing days in addition to endorsement deals, investments, and broadcasting work.

Brett Favre’s storied career

The signal-caller was drafted out of Southern Mississippi in 1991 by the Atlanta Falcons but saw no meaningful playing time. In addition, his brash personality clashed with other players and the coaching staff. His initial contract with Atlanta was a three-year deal worth $1.3 million, but that didn’t last long. Favre was traded to the Green Bay Packers in 1992 and stayed in Wisconsin until 2010.

In Green Bay, Favre would rocket to stardom, destroying many passing records for both the team and the NFL. Nicknamed the Gunslinger for his speedy passes that would frequently test the bones of his receivers, Favre took chances all over the field, often racking up interceptions in the process. He would also become the Ironman of the NFL, starting 297 consecutive games, which remains a record, and one that may never be broken in the league.

With Favre at the helm of a high-powered offense, he steered the team to seven division titles, reached six NFC title games, and appeared in two Super Bowls in 1996 and 1997, winning the first against the New England Patriots. After the inability to nail down a retirement timeline, he formally filed for retirement in 2007, and the Packers agreed it was best to part ways.

Favre came out of retirement and was signed by an eager New York Jets squad looking for relevance. After one year there, the Jets released Favre and he went on to play two more seasons with the Packers hated divisional rival, Minnesota Vikings, taking the team to the cusp of a Super Bowl with an NFC title game appearance in 2009, losing to the eventual champions, New Orleans Saints.

Favre’s career earnings

Favre amassed about $138 million in career earnings across all four NFL teams he played for. The contracts break down like this:

  • Atlanta Falcons (1991): $710,000
  • Green Bay Packers (1992 – 2007): $97,119,000
  • New York Jets (2008): $12,000,000
  • Minnesota Vikings (2009 – 2010): $28,000,000

Favre’s post-playing endorsements

No stranger to peddling his image and likeness, Brett Favre was on board early with a sports social network based in San Francisco, Sqor. He also was a regular on television commercials pitching Nike, Wrangler, Copper Fit, Remington, and Prilosec, among others.

He also has a number of philanthropic endeavors including his Favre 4 Hope Foundation, and his wife’s foundation for breast cancer.
